* L’éditrice Laurence Teper a créé en 2003, une maison d’édition indépendante, Les éditions Laurence Teper.
- Q..Quelles qualités sont nécessaires pour être un bon édieur?..R : je dirais dans le désordre: la modestie par rapport au texte, par rapport au travail d’écriture; l’ouverture, l’exigence, et la curiosité. Il faudrait développer, mais c’est celles qui me viennent en premier.
-Q.. Comment êtes-vous devenue éditrice? n’est-ce pas un choix très risqué? … R : il m’a fallu du temps pour faire ce que je voulais vraiment faire dans la vie. Je suis devenue éditrice indépendante à 40 ans, après avoir passé une dizaine d’années chez Nathan, et enseigné cinq ans.
-Q.. Votre maison d’édition est toute jeune, trouvez-vous votre place face au grandes maisons? … R : C’est difficile, mais c’est normal que ça le soit. J’ai reçu de la part des médias et des libraires un accueil attentionné et précieux, dès le début.
-Q… Recevez-vous beaucoup de manuscrits en lecture? sur quels critères les sélectionnez-vous? … R :j’en reçois beaucoup trop, les gens devraient lire plus et écrire moins. Dans mes critères de choix ma décision tient, bien sûr, au texte que je lis. C’est la partie la plus importante, la plus éditoriale. Elle tient compte de mon catalogue, de la manière dont je me sens capable de défendre un tel texte, de la cohérence que ça peut avoir, ou non, par rapport à mes autres publications. Pour la premières approche, je n’ai pas une grille de lecture fixe, déterminée, il faut que le texte me plaise, me corresponde, qu’il ait un sens pour moi quand je le lis.
-Q… Ne trouvez-vous pas que la créativité littéraire est plus vivante dans les pays anglosaxons qu’en France, pays ou nous souffrons du politiquement bien pensant ?…R : Je regrette parfois que la littérature française soit moins tournée que d’autres vers le monde et le réel.. (source..libération)
