Les participants à une rencontre littéraire,  organisée hier au musée du moudjahid de Souk Ahras, ont mis en exergue le patriotisme de Moufdi Zakaria, symbole de la poésie révolutionnaire en Algérie et dans le monde arabe. Moufdi Zakaria a «accompagné le processus de l’éveil nationaliste en Algérie, puis la Révolution de Novembre, et a produit de magnifiques poèmes sur les thèmes de la Révolution, de la liberté et le combat pour l’émancipation  des peuples», a soutenu, dans sa communication, M. Madani Zikem, de la faculté de lettres de l’université Mohamed-Cherif Messaâdia. «Les paroles de ce grand poète du 20e siècle traduisaient le sentiment patriotique profond qui coulait dans son sang», a ajouté l’intervenant, estimant que même lorsque l’auteur de l’hymne national Qassaman évoquait la mort, sa poésie avait «une puissance étonnante» au point que les mots qui en sortaient  «s’apparentaient plus à des balles qu’à des larmes».
M. Zikem a invité les jeunes à «ressentir toute la fierté qui se dégage de cette poésie qui enseigne magistralement les valeurs de la liberté, de l’émancipation  et l’abnégation».  Il a également été évoqué, lors de cette rencontre, les tentatives coloniales pour effacer l’identité culturelle algérienne par la confiscation des biens wakfs et la lutte contre l’enseignement arabe. Inscrite dans le cadre de la célébration du 60e anniversaire du déclenchement de la Révolution, la rencontre a été organisée conjointement par la section locale de l’Union des écrivains algériens, l’Office des établissements de jeunes, l’association culturelle «Noun», le musée du Moudjahid, le réseau algérien  pour l’information culturelle et la bibliothèque de wilaya.*El Moudjahid- 26-10-2014

Alors que la France fête le centenaire de la colonisation de l’Algérie et que les poètes « Beni-oui-oui » chantent les « bienfaits des conquérants », Moufdi Zakaria se détache de cet enthousiasme hypocrite et surprend par des poèmes nationalistes bien au-dessus de son âge, mais point au-dessous de son talent. « Il répudie » avec une audace sans bornes, mais couronnée du plus éclatant des succès, toute l’ancienne technique de la versification, toute cette banalité d’images et d’idées que les « poètes du colonialisme » considéraient comme le sommet de la poétique, de l’art, de… « l’engagement »… de « l’intégration ». Les menaces de la police coloniale et les attaques des « écrivaillons-sbires » ne le découragent nullement. Militant actif de l’Etoile nord-africaine, il sera le premier poète algérien emprisonné en cette première moitié du XXe siècle. Il passera l’année 1933 dans la prison de Blida. Libéré en 1934, il redoublera d’audace.Toujours plus attentif au sort de ses concitoyens, Moufdi Zakaria publie ou déclame (dans les meetings du PPA(1)) des poèmes d’une grande portée patriotique, animés d’un acharnement aussi étincelant qu’irréconciliable, tout en étant d’une qualité esthétique et lyrique très nouvelle dans le mouvement de la poésie arabophone en Algérie. Poète de la liberté du changement — y compris dans l’esthétique poétique —, barde de la « Révolution algérienne » (1954-1962), il écrira Kassamen, l’hymne national de l’Algérie, en prison à Serkadji. La souveraineté de l’Algérie recouvrée, Moufdi Zakaria est vite « mis à l’index » par le dictateur Boumediène. Tel un hallebardier doué du don d’ubiquité, qui monterait la garde à toutes les portes d’une Algérie, dont il voyait l’avenir autrement, notre grand poète se revèle, après l’indépendance, une conscience civique vigilante, toujours à l’affût, militant contre l’injustice politique et sociale, contre la corruption et la démagogie, contre la dictature et le despotisme. Après les assassinats de ses amis Khider et Krim Belkacem — qui ont payé de leur vie leur amour pour l’Algérie démocratique et progressiste —, Moufdi Zakaria prend le chemin de l’exil. Il mourra à Tunis. Pour tous les Algériens, Moufdi Zakaria reste un symbole par sa poésie innovatrice, par son patriotisme, par son intégrité, par sa fidélité légendaire aux principes de progrès et par son combat acharné pour une Algérie libre, démocratique et forte par son développement scientifique et industriel.(El Watan-08.11.09.)

Une manifestation culturelle, organisée conjointement par la Fondation Moufdi-Zakaria et l’Association France- Algérie, s’est tenue le 15 mai à la Bibliothèque Nationale de France (BNF), à Paris, en hommage au grand poète de la Révolution algérienne, feu Moufdi Zakaria. Cette grande manifestation était marquée par la participation du Slimane Cheikh, président de la fondation et ancien ministre de la Culture, de l’écrivain Bruno Racine, président de la Bibliothèque Nationale de France, de Pierre Joxe, président de l’Association France-Algérie, membre du Conseil constitutionnel, ancien ministre et ancien président de la Cour des comptes de France, ainsi que Hédi Bekkouche, ancien Premier ministre tunisien et militant du Grand Maghreb. Le président de la Fondation Moufdi Zakaria, Cheikh Slimane et le président de l’Association France- Algérie, Pierre Joxe, ont souligné à l’ouverture des cérémonies de cet hommage, le rôle et l’importance du combat que représente cet homme de lettres et penseur d’Algérie et du  » Maghreb ». « Moufdi Zakaria n’est pas seulement un poète romantique. Il est avant tout un homme d’action. Son oeuvre représente un dépôt précieux de ce qu’il représente par rapport au passé et aux générations actuelles et futures », a précisé Pierre Joxe dans son intervention. Les intervenants à la table-ronde organisée à cet effet à la Bibliothèque, ont souligné la dimension maghrébine et universelle de l’oeuvre de cet homme de la révolution du Premier Novembre 1954. Toutes leurs interventions ont été axées sur la dimension maghrébine et universelle de l’oeuvre et de l’action de Moufdi Zakaria, en tant que personne et en tant qu’homme de culture qui a milité pour la libération et l’émancipation des peuples.Pour Hédi Bekkouche, ancien ministre tunisien, Moufdi Zakaria, est  » l’intellectuel et le militant maghrébin au sens plein du terme. Il représentait la dimension maghrébine revendiquée et incarnée par le mouvement nationaliste algérien et pour Moufdi Zakaria, le Maghreb arabe est un espace indivisible et sa lutte était commune à tous les pays qui le composaient. Il a su combiner entre le militantisme politique et le verbe pour donner les plus belles oeuvres de la poésie arabe. » Un documentaire réalisé par Saïd Oulmi intitulé « Moufdi Zakaria, le poète de la Révolution », a été projeté lors de la première partie de cette rencontre.Le film documentaire, retrace les conditions dans lesquelles a été composé et enregistré l’hymne national « Qassaman ». Le réalisateur a fait appel à des compagnons de cellule, de Moufdi Zakaria, à la prison de Serkadji pour souligner la forte personnalité du poète et sa capacité à redonner de l’espoir aux détenus les plus désespérés : «Avec des mots simples, il réussit à nous faire sortir de nos cages pour nous transporter ailleurs», a témoigné un ancien condamné à mort. À cette occasion, la Fondation Moufdi Zakaria a fait don à la Bibliothèque Nationale de France d’un lot d’ouvrages et de travaux sur la vie et l’oeuvre du poète du M’zab ainsi que des copies d’archives sonores qui viendront enrichir les fonds documentaires de la BNF et serviront de documents précieux pour les chercheurs. Bruno Racine, Président de la Bibliothèque Nationale de France a déclaré à cet effet que « C’est un homme qui a montré qu’il était à la fois un grand poète et un révolutionnaire qui a milité pour changer l’histoire. Et compte-tenu des relations et de l’histoire commune entre nos deux pays, disposer des oeuvres d’un homme de lettres et de culture comme Moufdi Zakaria, dans les fonds de notre bibliothèque pour les mettre à la disposition de nos lecteurs, est un fait naturel et normal».
