Il y a peu, la télévision algérienne a diffusé un reportage relatif à un mariage collectif. Originalité de ce documentaire : il s’agissait d’une union collective rassemblant 19 couples chinois. L’une des mariées, originaire de Chine, a affirmé que cela fait dix ans qu’elle vit ici en Algérie. Une période suffisante pour s’intégrer dans les mœurs et coutumes locales.
Un diplomate de l’ambassade chinoise en Algérie a estimé, quant à lui, qu’ «il n’y a pas de différences entre les sociétés». «L’amour n’a pas de frontières», a-t-il ajouté, avant de lancer : «L’ère du mariage forcé est terminé». Une allusion subtile aux mariages mixtes. C’est effectivement devenu une réalité ces dernières années. Avec l’arrivée massive des travailleurs chinois dans le pays, plusieurs Algériennes et Algériens ont épousé des ressortissants et ressortissantes chinoises.

Si la société algérienne ne voit pas toujours d’un bon oeil ces amours métissés, le nombre de mariage célébré entre Algériens et Chinois sur le territoire national augmente sensiblement. D’ailleurs, parmi les invités présents à la cérémonie du mariage collectif filmée par la télévision algérienne, un couple algéro-chinois. L’épouse, une Algérienne, a raconté devant les caméras qu’il y a quatre ans elle a uni son destin à celui d’un Chinois, arrivé en Algérie en 2002. Si la langue a au début posé quelques problèmes aux deux amoureux, aujourd’hui ils filent le parfait amour et l’époux chinois s’exprime dans un arabe algérien assez compréhensible. Le couple mixte est même parent deux enfants.
